I was browsing the bay earlier this week and I came across this Mini CQC-7 BW for a really good price; 3 days later and I have it in my hands. This has to be my favorite Emerson yet - everything on it is perfect, from the centering to the lockup to the grind lines. Here are some quick pictures that I took with my phone:

Perfect lockup:

Here it is with my similarly sized hard use knife, the PT CC:

Oops, that is not the mini.. But oh well. They are still eye candy.

The mini was my favorite user however.

Love the green on that 7. Usually you can ask that the seller check for lockup and centering if you use ebay.

Yeeeeeah, I tried aksing a seller a couple days ago on a mini. I asked detailed questions on-
Any blade play in any direction when open.
How far over the lock bar was percentage wise?
and if the blade was leaning slighlty or was perfectly centered when closed.

This is the reply i got:

No movement straight.

That is a CQC-7A w/ a spearpoint blade - pretty hard to find nowdays. The green handles are probably from a christmas special.

Congrats on the new addition. While I like the Mini CQC-7, I'm actually trying to sell mine and replacing it with a Mini A-100.

I'm considering a mini 7 myself. That blade looks perfect man.

I just ordered my first Emerson, a mini CQC7 and I hope mine looks like this. I have done my research and I have check one out for myself.

Well, my mini CQC7 arrived today and the F/F is very good with no flaws, early lock up and came sharp. The action needs to smooth out more and I know that will happen in time. I now "get it" with the grind, it's not a slicer but has cut through plastic ties and heavy cardboard like a champ. It's my first Emerson, but not my last.

Not to get totally off-subject, but what is the knife in your avatar? I've been trying to read the writing on the back of the blade for a while now and I just can't figure it out.

I usually only like big folders, but picked up a used Mini 7 for my gf, who really didn't care enough for it to replace her Spydercos.

I have been using it the last three days moving, and have completely fallen in love with it. While I don't see it replacing the Super 7 as my security blanket, it is a damn good knife. A whole lotta knife in such a small package.
