Got mine from spyken! Love the lock, though still trying to close it one handed (I just grab lock with index finger and give a flick) Mine has nytralon washers, which are SMOOOOOOTH. They're still unlubed and I wont chage that. Rides a little high in the pocket, but I don't mind. Since this was already used, I had no problems using it. Spyken did a great job with the edge! Hard to keep this outta my pocket! (Calypso has been relocated to my left, with the clip on the right (non left) side)

Way to go GB! The Para is one of my favorites. Not too big, great ergos, great lock, and slices like crazy.

It rides high -- I too wish it was lower, but at least it makes the draw easy.

I still wish you'd get a Sharpmaker because it really is the easiest way to keep a knife like the Para sharp. I guarantee that the factory edge bevel is less than 40 degrees inclusive. Shoot, on mine it was less than 30 degrees! I'm sure Spyken only improved on that. With an edge like that maintaining sharpness with the Sharpmaker takes only minutes, and minimal skill.

Okay, I'll stop preaching. Glad you got such a nice one!

heh heh, glad you like it GB. Yup, I figured that S30V is tough, so I've made it just a tiniest bit under 30 deg included (maybe 28-29). I used a fine diamond to get the microserrations, then stroped it on a green compound loaded strop.

If you get the sharpmaker, you just need to swipe it a couple times (light pressure) down the crock sticks at 30 deg, then just lightly strop it on a loaded piece of leather - it'll be shaving sharp again. If it needs more work, just swipe it on the grey ceramic, then white, then strop - guaranteed to bring back the edge.

GB, if you're looking for a strop - get the one from knivesrus. I would've gotten one from them myself (altho' I have a large long strop) but they don't ship internationally. It'll only cost you $12 I think - and all your knives will be popping hairs.

Thanks! I'll get a sharpmaker, eventually...after I have my fun with the spyderco full size benchhones =D
Strop I'll pick up next, though I've been using cardboard with good results (still trying not to round the edge)
