So I have had a few SMF and a few SnG but they have all been S30v one SMF was CPM154 but I traded as it was a tiger stripe and started rusting right away.Well I just traded my Sebenza 25 for this lightly used Strider SnG DGG Ranger Green CPM154 . I just sharpened with my edge pro using chosera stones to 10k and this thing cuts like a laser something I still can't get my SMF NSN s30v to do.

I have an s30v sng and have no problem with getting it super sharp. I use a sharpmaker with ultra fine stones. Congrats on the new knife.
 
When sharpening with the edge pro, are you raising a bur on the opposite side with the coarser stones before going to the finer ones? If you are not raising a bur, you are not getting to the apex, hence you will not notice an improvement in cutting performance. I have an SnG in CPM154 and an SMF in S30 V, and both get very sharp. Note: neither were very sharp from the factory.
 
I put a 22 degree 44 inclusive bevel on my s30v strider sng. It is very sharp, even with a large angle it will slice threw phone book paper effortlessly. I really don't need any sharper than that. Congrats on your dgg I want one.
 
I'm thinking it might just be the thicker blade stock as I can slice phone book paper with ease.
I usually do 220,320 edge pro stones then 400,1000,10000 chosera stones.
