I wish I wouldn't have waited so long. Purchased one for a good price at a Galyans that is going out of business. If you have been thinking about getting one, I would highly recommend it. It's very easy to use and allows you to touch up an edge without scratching the blade. I tried to sharpen my SAK a while back and couldn't get it shaving sharp. On the Sharpmaker, it was no problem. The video is pretty cool, too. Take care, all.

Congratulations on your new Sharpmaker. I own one for about a year now and I fully agree with you. It's very easy to use and effective. I've sharpened a few Victorinox SAK's myself lately and I got them absolutely hair popping sharp! No problem at all. Same goes for a few old kitchen knives. They were very dull, but after using the Sharpmaker they could easily push cut paper. :) For some reason though I've never been able to get my small Sebenza that sharp. I've tried it on my Sharpmaker on both 30 and 40 degrees, but it just doesn't get as sharp as my other knives.

I've been thinking about buying one of those so I don't have to send the knife in to spyderco to have it sharpened... don't want to be without it that long lol. I have a quick question, will it sharpen the serrations on the swisstools as good as it will sharpen spyderco's?

I just received two knives from an ebay transaction. Both came about "utility" sharp. After I worked them on the Sharpmaker, both shaved hair off my arm. Gotta love it.

I am a new sharpmaker owner as well. I have used a variety of good sharpeners and the triangle ranks right up there with my lansky crock stick professional, except its even more versatile.

Congrats!

question: does the video come on DVD? I don't have my VCR working anymore.

Don't worry about the video. The triangle comes with a very detailed and helpful instruction book with tons of pictures. Easier to take to the jon with you than a video also.
