I've been eyeballing an original Kershaw stainless frame-lock JYD for some time now, but have been unable to find a plain-edge anywhere. I really like Tim Galyean's various Kershaw Collabs, and I really like the Galyean Pro JYD, but I didn't find out about either until after they were no longer being made.

I got a blem'd JYD II, but it just wasn't the same - large, no USAF symbol, and not quite in the spirit of the original (in my opinion). Ironically my folks came over for a visit and I was showing my dad the Galyean Pro JYD and how Kershaw had made one just like it (and the first place I went for a pic was ebay - to show him a serrated version and try and describe it in plain-edge), and low and behold, there was a plain-edge 1720 for a good price.

Long story short... its on its way to my house now. I was late to the game when they originally came out and thought I wouldn't get a chance to own one - very happy with this purchase.

Just came in today. I'm really impressed with this little knife. I wish I had gotten one a long time ago.
