i didn't know it is a MT scout!.
what are the difference between a normal MT and a MT scout.
this is my first strider i want to buy more in the near future.
i like the MT-SS very much ithink thats gone be the next one i buy.

Hey there,
The scout knives are knives that were made specifically to be a little lighter in weight.
Another good example would be the MSC 6.5 and 7.5 knives. (These knives by the way are now called the Mk1 6.5, and Mk1A 7.5). We changed the name when they became company items. It keeps us from getting too confused.
In the world of today, fighting men carry a LOT of gear. A LOT!!!
It is often very hard to find a place to put everything.
Weight becomes a HUGE issue.
The last thing you want is to have an added weight pulling you down.
We began making large frame knives that were significantly lighter in weight than their predecessors.
The project really began with the MSC 6.5 and 7.5 inch knives. (Now the Mk1 and Mk1A).
Faced with huge demand for lighter weight, large frame knives, I designed and built the MSCs.
We were VERY happy with the outcome. The problem was that the knives were prohibitively expensive due to the way they were ground. In order to relieve weight but not strength, we use a full bevel grind.
Now we have the technology to grind them a lot more efficiently.
Therefore the move to having them in our line.
With the popularity of the Mk1 program, we began making several models in scout configuration.
To date we have made the following models in scout.
1. Mk1, Mk1A
2. MT, MT.SS
3. HT
4. WB
5. BT, BT.SS
I guess you could include the EBs since they are Full bevel ground. But that is the way they will always be. Same with the MFS and the folders.
In the beginning we only make the knives for Military sales.
Then, in our usual fashion, we began making overruns.
Overruns are great for us; we make sure we have enough to folfil our contract, then sell the rest to collectors.
Lately, go figure, we are doing a lot of scout knife projects. We are currently making MT.SSs, HTs , WBs and Mk1s.
If anyone is interested, give us a call. Im sure we are making more than we have on order.
