Finally got my custom Brend!

It was a much longer wait than I had expected, but my custom Brend Hatchet finally arrived today. It was definitely worth the wait!

This started out as one of the Diamondite Brends. Then Justin polished it and fitted thick handle scales of desert ironwood. It sure does feel great in my hand! :D

It also came out of the box with a scary edge. I discovered this while foolishly trying to fit the head back into the padding it came in. The blade went through three layers of foam, several layers of strapping tape, and part of my hand, all without any sense of resistance. A couple of butterfly bandages seem to have fixed my problem, but I will definitely show it more respect in the future. (This is the first time I've cut myself on a blade in more than 20 years.)

Thanks to everyone at ATC for an awesome weapon and tool!

Glad you like your new toy. I am sorry for the delay in getting it finished up and into your hands (no pun intended .:p ......Ok well maybe just a little). If there is ever anything else that I can do for you just let me know.

P.S. Thanks again to everyone for the kind words and all of the encouragement that you have given me and Ranger Knives.

That's very nice! I would like to get one of those! How does the edge hold up? I really like this and I really like the Ranger hawk. I'm going to have to make a decision in '04.

Justin is THE man. You won't wait nearly as long for other custom jobs and his prices are awesome. Nice work Justin, that Brend is neato!

You are an evil person. I like that! :p

One good thing about being cut by a blade that sharp...it seems to be healing very cleanly.

And I didn't mean to imply that you were slow with the custom work. I thought you turned it around very quickly! The wait was longer than expected because various factors, including ATC's production for the troops, delayed the Diamondite Brends.

And despite being impatient for my new toy, I really do approve of ATC's priorities. Unless I screw up, my life and safety will not be dependent on my Brend. Those going into harm's way should have first call on any tools they can use.

Thanks again!

Glad you like it too! :)

I can't tell you how the edge holds up, since I've only had it for a day. I expect good things though, based on CPM 3V's reputation.
