Finally got my hands on a Starbenza

Been looking for awhile and thanks to Franzdom I finally got one. Always felt like the starbenza was a great option with the Ti scales having the starburst grip pattern. Sure gives the knife a nice firm grip. I've seen a few with the scales scotch brited and am giving that strong consideration. Then my thought might be to swap out the blade with my insingo blade.

Congrats, I love my Starbenza as well.

Congrats, great knife.

I did exactly what you are thinking of doing, I put my small Insingo blade in the Starbenza handle. It's a very nice set up but I eventually swapped mine back cause the Insingo is my user and I didn't want to mess up the Starbenza handles.
I call the Insingo the Insane-O so the combo was affectionately dubbed the Insane Willy :D

If you get lucky and the lock up turns out well, highly likely, I think that you'll be very happy with the set up.

Wilson is playing both ends against the middle, so he is bound to win. In this post, I am only referring to the larger-sized folder offerings.

He has the large Starbenza, collab with CRK, with S35VN blade-steel. He also collabs with George on the Eagle with CTS-XHP blade-steel at a bit more money. Both are excellent titanium slab-built, similar if not exact size. Weight on each is 4.7 or 4.8 ounces. I suppose the extra price for the Eagle is for the blade-steel, although both models are great. Obviously, Chris Reeve does quite well with S35VN.
And...Wilson goes further and offers the Star-Tac collab with CRK, although the blade thickness is 0.150" instead of the 0.125" of the other two models. The blade-shape on this one really looks a lot like a Zaan, and weighs in at five ounces.

All of these "appear" to be a somewhat lighter form of the famous Les George VECP series of folders, which are more heavily constructed, IMO.
Lots to pick from...a good thing, in my book.

Sonny
