I posted this where I usually hang out....the tomahawk forum, but I thought i should post it here as well.

I was finally able to snag one of these off the exchange. This has been a "Grail" hawk of mine for quite some time now. I've always been interested in the Swamps SR101 and their highly reputable heat treating process.

I just received this last night so I've not really had time to do much with it, but I really couldn't wait, so I had to at least see how it would fair against a 3/16 inch frying pan until I can get out this weekend. (Asking for forgiveness is easier than asking for permission.......so with the wife gone seeing family for the weekend.......I will break the news to her Sunday. Hell.....the pan was old and we need a new one anyway.......who am I kidding.......the stupid pan probably had it coming anyway).

After the KDSH tore the pan up, it was still able to easily slice free hanging paper. No dents, chips or rolls.

I have to make a few different posts for the pics for some reason. IPad is acting up. Anyway........

very cool post, but how are ya going to make fried tater's sunday morning?

If I'm eating fried taters on Sunday morning.........that means I didn't drink 100 proof Popov Vodka Saturday night. Let's get realistic here. I'm a grown man who has priorities :very_drunk:

Here's another one. This spike is relentless....the photo dosent do it justice. It penetrated about an inch through 3/16 inch thick metal.

Something I was a little concerned about in regards to the Kill Devil was it never really seemed to look real "sturdy" in the pics you see online. For those that don't own one yet......it's quite impressive in hand. It's much beefier than it looks in pictures for some reason. I believe in weighs in at 22 oz.....which is just about a perfect weight for the tool it is.

A dedicated breacher usually weighs around the 30 oz mark give or take and a designed fighter hawk is generally under 20 oz. The Kill Devil seems to pleasantly spilt the difference in the weights, yet in my short time with it gives the impression that it could handle either task of a fighting hawk or demolition/breaching hawk equally well. Feels very good in hand. Really looking forward to taking this out and about.

WOW that is some AWESOME chopping!!!

Oh no! Now I feel the "I need to get me one of those" urges...

Congratulations!

SnakeBreaker: I agree 100% with your assessment on the hawk and especially compared to the way it looks online... hilarious story about the wife though, the only reason I have a paypal account is so that I can buy stuff without mine knowing what's going on. Congrats on your Kill Devil!
