I have been eying the Leafstorm for a couple years but the love/hate on this knife has kept me away all this time. I finally decided to judge for myself. I have always liked the concept, designer, USA made and quality attributes but was worried I wouldn't care for it for some of the repeated negatives such as ergos, blade design, etc.. Today I unboxed the knife and I have to say that I like it! Yes, it's a bit of an oddball, yes it "could" bite you in carelessness but otherwise it's a smart, useful little knife. The aesthetics are flat out cool and the quality is evident in every way. Lockup is perfect and with a pivot bushing some of the worries gone. The ergos are not that bad when you realize its intended purpose. A stout, classy Gent's knife with a rather beefy build. S30V, translucent G10, titanium and an RIL make it pretty worry free. The wide jimping (sp?) works excellent. It's a knife you have to hold before you blow it off.
Here's a few pics.

I really like the Leaf Storm. I've carried it a few times a week for almost two years now and guess what, it's never cut me. I just treat knives with respect and they tend to not give me any problems. Great knives and razor sharp. The heat treat on the S30V is outstanding.

The notch at the base of the blade and the gap bothers me. I like everything else about it, I just cant get over that gap. I have the same hang up about the BM Grip, but its not as noticeable on that knife. But Im glad you like it! Great pics.

I have been on the fence about this knife too. Thanks for the pictures RetiredGuns and the write up. I think I am going to put this at the top of my list now.

I don't own it. Yet. I don't like small folders. But this is by far the coolest small folder in the world, and the only one I've ever considered buying. Still undecided. ;)

After using this everyday, all day since I got it I can honestly say that the "notch" is rather harmless. It should not be a deterrent if considering this knife. It is a very unique design and has its limits but for most EDC tasks it works very well. Actually refreshing looks without dual giant choils.

Glad you like it, its a unique little blade. I have small hands and I find it plenty comfortable for general tasks. Ergos are important to me when I need to work for extended periods with a knife. This guy comes out when im just bumming around the city and dont need a serious cutter. Its perfect for urban (watch pocket) carry imo. GREAT pics btw.
