I was finally able to take the Leatherneck out to taste wood. I don't like battoning anything heavy (to each their own), so small kindling is fine with me. I found the spine to be perfectly squared off from the factory already, and it ripped great gobs of fero rod sparks out for a quick fire. The video is weak but it's the wifes old camera that I use as an outdoor beater. I found that Walkabout stick, or whatever it's called, to be handy for whacking down branches and a touch of light battoning. The knife went through the hard dried out local choke cherry just fine. I did some crude feather sticks but that pic is missing, will try to U/L tommorow.
