I haven't been getting out enough lately and I finally decided to get outside for a hike. There's a 'nature trail' behind my apartment complex that kind of follows a creek so I went down, jumped off the trail and headed the opposite way from where I usually go. Found some graffiti and managed to get a knife shot or two. I'm no photo expert but I always have fun!

Here's the creek where I got started

Thanks for looking.

Cool pics.

I emailed the wife yesterday at work and said:

"I'm about to lose my mind. I think I'm going to go on a hike tomorrow and have a fire and some lunch/coffee." She asked if I had checked the weather.

12 degrees with 25 mph winds. Boy that sounds lovely. I think I'll stay inside today.

Nice photos dude!

I want to go out for a small hike but I'm not such a fan of the cold. :p

Excellent pics, any fish in the water?

Also that Graffiti looks pretty good, atleast they took the time and made it nice.....

around here its all sloppy (damn ghetto ninjas)

I had a few layers on so the cold was no problem. I was actually gettin a little warm by the end.

Flexx I did look for some fish under the bridge where the water wasn't frozen but didn't see any. I've been meaning to try my luck at that creek but haven't gotten around to it yet.

It always amazes me how good some of that graffiti can actually be. We have a snowstorm coming in and minus temps. Thank goodness AMC has a John Wayne movie marathon on all day. :D

Nice photos, that looks like an interesting area to mess around. At least your local graffiti artists take some pride in their works and it's actually artistic and notch just a bunch of BS spray painted all over the place.

Yeah there was crap graffiti too but I didn't bother getting any shots of it. I'd like to go further down the creek but I got held up by some really nasty briers and got all tangled up. I had the Junglas with me and went to town on em but I don't think it's quite suited for it. I'll take an actual machete next time and see how far I can get.

There's a huge difference between real graffiti artists and graffiti and gangbangers who just throw up their sets or gang-names. The real artists are great and lots of them do paintings as well, they just like the bigger, open canvases and the thrill that comes from it.

In an urban environment, they can have run-ins with the gangbangers, though, and get hurt because they might try to make something 'pretty' over their ugly gang territory. That area is great for a group of artists to get together and work on a huge mural.

I love good quality graffiti art.

Nice, I wish the wind wasnt bad here this weekend or id be outside, I dont mind the cold but when its windy, i rather stay inside.
