Finally got to go hiking

I went hiking on the Batona trail in Wharton State Forest today. I'll have pictures once I get my film developed. After a little fun with Google directions, it was a nice hike. My feet are killing me though. Someone ruined my nice worn in boots by putting them on the heater when they were wet, I thought they felt tight this morning but I didn't realize what the problem was until I was in the middle of the woods. My boots are no longer broken in. It took me two months to get those boots comfortable and they've been comfortable for like three years and now I have to do it again.

There were some annoying people on the trail though, one couple in particular that used the words "communing with nature" to describe their day hike. That phrase irritates me and fills me with murderous rage. I went and sat on a log until I could no longer hear their annoying voices.

It was definately a nice trail. Worth checking out if you're ever in the area. I started at the Carranza memorial and went to the fire watch tower and back, it took me about three and a half hours once I found the trail. I'll have pictures up a bit later.

Nothing like a long hike in stiff boots to help pass a hippie-induced murderous rage :) LOL

Looking forward to the pics.

I come here to commune with the internet, ahh it feels great.:p

Thanks for sharing your day hike with us, I think maybe if your feet didn't hurt you so much, you might not have been bothered by the other people. I mean all they were really doing was enjoying the same outdoors as you. I say kudos to you and them for getting off your butts and not letting a little cold weather keep you indoors:thumbup: You may have had more in common with them than you thought;)
