Finally got to really use my Manix II

That's not to say I have never used it. The thing is most of the time I'm just cutting open boxes or tape, and often times (especially in the summer) I grab a lighter knife. But on Thursday I was helping out working on a property and made sure to grab it. Part of the job was tearing down an old shed. To do that we needed to get rid of some rubber nailed to the roof. It was not pulling up so cutting was the way to go. Turns out it was reinforced with some sort of fibers. I was glad to finally get the knife dirty.

Good on you. Nothing quite like putting a good knife through it's paces. :thumbup:

How did it hold up?

It did well. I was very careful about avoiding staples so there was no edge damage. I had a bit of trouble cutting into a plastic bag later but I know my sharpening skills vary and it wasn't hair shaving to start with.
