and offcoarse; It past with flying colours!!!! :) :)

Last week I was out in de woods for a nice long walk and i thought i'd give my (almost new....already is my EDC for about a month) a decent workout :D
First i tried to test how well it cut...
I started some cutting on a 4 centimeter thinck branch (belgian oak!). The knife went through it in just a couple of good slices.....much better than any of my other (and cheaper :D ) knives! After doing that like 10 times I wanted to do something different....

Then i just wanted to see how it whittles......keeping in mind that i'm not really an artist at it, i think it did very well as long as you use it for the rough part......and offcourse use a smaller and thinner blade to finish the job.

Then i just though i'd get a bit dirtier on the knife :D ;) ......I even used it for some digging! Offcourse that got the entire knife as dirty as was possible.

When i got home, i just took out my torx-screwdriver and dissasembled the knife entirely, washed it, dried it and put it back together with a little oil :)
Like new again!

(PS:I know I voided the warranty, and I dont want to tempt anybody to void his/her's .I have already dissasembled my benchmade couple of times, since i don't care for any warranty on it because i'm from belgium. When it ever brakes, i'll have a good excuse to buy me a new one :D )

Real happy with my gripty, It's a real winner in my opinion!

See ya

.........dreaming of a Sebenza............

I haven't found a Benchmade knife that I don't like, and the "Grip" is an excellent value! :)

DITTO...I have a mini-grip and an Ambush...both are quickly becoming favorites!

The mini Grip has to be one of, if no THE single easiest-to-use pocket knife there is. I've owned/own plenty of other knives(other BM's too) that cost plenty more, but I ALWAYS go back to my trusty Mini Grip for EDC mainly because of the ease of opening and closing. Smokes everything I've come across so far by a large margin. Totally effortless.

I agree 100%
The 556 is my EDC and I have'nt seen anything that can replace it so far.

A G-10 556 would be the perfect EDC.

A G-10 556 is pretty much a 721, (Although it is slightly larger, and has been DC'd by Benchmade.).:).

I love my grip too, never heard of someone who didnt. I might need to take it apart sometime, but up here in Canda Torx screws arnt very common, especially the small one you need to change a pocket clip!

For info; A T-6 is the Torx-bit size that you need to fit the tiny screws to change the clip on a Benchmade.

Glockman99,

I have a 722, and it might sound strange, but I prefer the 556.
The 722's handle just is'nt as comfortable, mostly because my pinky sits right on the reaward guard's peak--I've even considered sanding it down.

Another thing I don't like about my 722 is that, when it's closed, the thumb-studs are too close to the handle. Sometimes my thumb can't catch the stud on the first attempt.

But the 722 is one helluva stout knife.

Allen.
