If you check out my profile, you might see that I'm the quintessential lurker. For the past several months, I've spent a lot of time reading along here on The Porch and really appreciate all the info and camaraderie. You gents certainly stoked my interest in slipjoints, and I'm slowly checking out different patterns as funds allow. I only have a few knives in my small collection.
But I had been on the hunt for quite awhile for the best companion to my beloved Bark River Adventurer. It was a 10th Anniversary gift from my wife and I've found it to be a perfect EDC fixed blade. It's truly with me 29 days out of 30, and not just out of sentimentality. I've been trying various other knives with it, primarily because I wanted a better fruit slicer, and also for other small tasks. The Adventurer can most definitely cut, but sometimes it's like taking a splitting maul to a plum or apple.
Anyway, I've carried some modern folders, tried a few GEC patterns, and I really think my search might be over.

I've always loved the looks of the 92 Talon but could never be at the right place and time on the exchange. Well, I finally tracked one down, and it's in beautiful maroon micarta covers that match my beloved Adventurer.
As I had hoped, it fits perfectly in this dual pocket sheath.

Gotta say, it hasn't been around too long, but I love this thing.

Can anyone give me a little history on this run in maroon? I honestly didn't know they were made, so obviously it was back in the days when GEC wasn't really on my radar. Thanks!
