Well, after almost seven years, I have reached 1000 posts. To celebrate, I will do a giveaway. Nothing fancy, just representative of what I have in my collection. Since I have always loved simple slipjoints, that is what it will be.
The knife is an Eye Brand 3.5" stockman with bone handles and carbon steel blades. The bone was sold as strawberry, but it is more of a pink color than strawberry. The blades do not have a patina, but do have some pepperspots.
To enter, just pick a number between 1 and 1000. I will use a very unscientific and non-random number generator - I will have my knifeknut son, who does not know about the giveaway, choose a number between 1 and 1000. Whoever is closest is the winner. Contest is officially over when I log on Sunday. Since I can't predict what time that will be, it would be best to enter before Sunday morning.
