Bow season started today here. Didnt see anything but just chillin in a tree again was lots of fun. Best of luck to all my hunting friends. Hope you all have a great season.

Garth

Where I hunt, we can put down two a day if so inclined as long as one is a doe. I'd rather put down two does, as I'm looking for meat, not horns.

October 3 begins bow season here. I'll be going to the crossbow this year. Been working on hog populations here. Also going to try the .58 Cal musket to. That thing will put a fat pig legs up dang fast. No one hunts out here and all the feeders are way far away. I'm very optimistic about my season this year.

Mmmm meat. Me too if I get two in the freezer I'm happy. More is just extra happy. But dang two a day thats awesome.
I have three doe tags this year. Good hunting where I'm at but definately pressured first day sounds like civil war.

No archery for me mostly fishing now til Turkey, Bear, and Deer. Might give Muzzleloader a go this year.

The population of the AL herd is so doe heavy they have been doing this in a large part of the state for several years now. In the area I hunt, it is not uncommon for does to be bred in the late spring because the bucks can't get to them til then. Fawns dropping in August is not a good thing.

Good luck Garth! Hopefully your bow season goes better than mine did.

Sounded like they were blowing up the ducks or teal or something today out in the rice fields. Maybe dove don't know. What ever it was I wish I was doing that instead of working.

Good luck to you as well Garth. The bulls are screaming out here right now.

My deer season actually just ended. I know, we have some weird hunting seasons here in northern California. Would much rather be hunting during peak rut. But, I did have a successful season! Napa county blacktail....here's a before and after...
