I finally broke down and bought a HEST.. I was thinking about buying a 4, but i can legally carry the hest in my city. I am LOVING it.. except i already chipped the blade. i was cutting up and old leather car seat and TWANG!!! i hit the spring.. hahaha took me a good hour with a sharpening stone to get the edge back, but its sharp as a razor and ready to be my EDC.

A buddy of mine that smokes lots of weed was completely blown away by the knife because... "Dude.. you can totally put your weed in it!!" hahahah thought that was one of the funnier things ive heard in a while.

thanks for the quality knives guys and if anyone has any good suggestions on a EDC carry option for this knife, that would be much appretiated. Im still trying to figure out what is comfortable. the closest ive come is to have it horizontal on the back of my belt. this thing is great.

Ur screwed now. You got one, your gonna get another. I say start with a 3, then jump to the Junglas, then a 4, 6 next. Finish with the 5, pack the interims with Izulas and Izula II. You'll need a bag for all that steel, may I recommend the Laserna? A good knife needs a good fire steel, better get the Fire Kit. That Laserna is gonna get heavy as an EDC bag, better get a pack kit for the day to day. Since you gotta HEST, and hang out with potheads, you better get a new E&E kit, you're gonna need it.

LOL :thumbup::D

I can't help it, ESEE makes some great knives, and Jeff and Mike and the bunch are some good people. You will spend your money on more ESEE gear, but there's only one other place I would rather spend my money, but I'm a Beckerhead, not a Rat Packer. Peace and pleasant times to all. Moose

Can you put stuff inside the scales or something? Seems like a good place to put some matches or a fire-steel.

Or apparently some weed. lol

yeah, you can buy an ESEE arrowhead and use a dremel a bit...
add a firesteel and small compass...and it fits :)

Wow - that's crazy!

How could you fail to also list a Lite Machete & a HEST folder - he'll definitely be needing those!

Its close to Christmas, you gotta save something at ask for. I couldn't imagine what I would get if I didn't have SOMETHING I was dying to get. Save room for seconds, its a big trough.:D

As far as carry options you may want to try neck carry. I just got mine in yesterday and it makes a sweet neck knife. It's low profile and the weight isn't a problem for me. The only think that I think might improve the neck carry is getting a folded style kydex sheath instead of the two individual sheets grommeted together.

God bless,
Adam

Thanks a lot guys.. definetly love this knife but as far as buying all their knives I think I'm going to go for a bigger knife next time maybe the 6 or 5 haven't really decided yet.. I live in minnesota so the junglas might not be the best choice.. I prefer to carry an axe for heavy chopping.

Definetly like the idea of grinding down the arrow head.. has anyone on here actually used one of those? I browse this forum a bit and it would be cool to see some pictures.

The kneck carry idea is a decent idea, but I usually am wearing a button up work shirt or at least a couple layers.. might not be as easily accessable as I would need.

This is by far the best under 100 dollar knife I have ever owned... love it.

cricket... where do I get a hold of a belt clip? Much more convenient than having to deal with lashing it every day.

i made the belt clip, but esee is supposed to be having some made up soon as well. i just bought a cheap clip 1.00 took a scrap of kydex put a spacer under the clip and between the kydex and the sheath and rivited it, then used screws from the molle locks to secure it to the sheath.

took about 5 minutes to make.
