Yepps, last thursday I recived my NIB grey Matriarch, very nice knife I must say!

My first knife with a serrated edge! :)

Congratulations, Celery.
Yes the serrations are very nice and can do some serious slicing thru very tough material. Unfortunately, the Matriarch is not designed for utility work. You should get another Spydie with the Spyderedge so you can really appreciate their effectiveness, like a Military maybe. (always need just one more knife)

I often read that the Matricach is not made for an every-day and work use and is only designed for self-defense and law-enforcement. But is it just a matter of blade material, or a matter of warranty?

Yes the Matriarch & Civilian is not really suitable for every and work-use, and if you look at the shape of the blade you can understand why!
The tip of the blade is very thin! So you could easily brake it!
But if your carefull you can use it to utility work as well!

I've always edmired the design of the Matriarch and Civvie so I just had to buy one!

Concratulations - grey ones are rarer as you propably already know. You got yourself a nice chirstmas present. I knew that you just have to have a matriarch or a civilian. Isn't that s-curve on matriarch great looking... and civilian looks even better ;).

Thanks! Yes and I like the grey ones better, kind of different from the regular black ones!
And as you said.... nice curves! :)

Yes the grey is nice, but wait until you get a "fullgrown" Civilian :D

It´s just... BIGGER :)

Nice to see that there are more people than me here in Scandinavia that likes great knives.
