After a LOT of shopping, I finally came home with my new truck yesterday! I actually had a 2005 Toyota Tundra on order with a local dealer. Signed a contract and put a $100 bill down as a deposit a month or so ago. A week later, he calls me to tell me the factory will not take custom orders this late in the model year(umm, excuse me, but shouldn't he have known that when I signed the paper?)

Anyway, it all worked out in the long run, I guess. I didn't end up with the Tundra(which would have been nice, since there was a $1500 rebate on the Tundra), but I did come home with a drop dead, gorgeous dark blue Tacoma Prerunner 4x2. :) I once owned a very similar Tacoma, about 5 years ago, but my old one had a 150 hp 4 cylinder, while this one has a 4.0 liter 245 hp V6. Big, huge difference in power. Toyota also made the Tacoma a good bit larger than before, so I have more room than before. Gas mileage will probably not be great, but my older 4 cylinder Tacoma never got better than 18 mpg anyway. This one is rated at 18 City/ 22 Highway. Might not get that, but I don't care, I love this truck anyway. I'll try to get a pic uploaded soon.

Guess selling all those knives finally paid off! ;)

Keep watching the For Sale Forums. Remember, I still have to pay for this new toy. ;) :)

Those new Tacomas are awesome. I like their looks even better than my Tundra's.

Congrats on the new "Toy". I have to admit the Tacos look much tougher than the Tundra. I just picked up my Tundra Double Cab 4x4 this week. What a smooth ride for a truck. Of course now I am looking at which bedliner, which tonneau cover, clear bra or no clear bra, etc. So many aftermarket options. Any consensus which tonneau coveris the best? I am currently looking at A.R.E.

congrats on the new truck, the new Tacoma is pretty sweet, my father-in-law just got one.
