Yesterday I took the first step toward building the new shop. I graded the back lot and added 36 yards of soil to level off the slope toward the creek.

The slab should go in by the end of the month, and I will build the shop ( mainly single handed ) over the summer and early fall. I plan on popping a beer for new years in my completely finished and equipped shop.

Last photo is of a couple friends visiting the construction site. The lantana bushes can be seen on the right side of the long shot toward the house. The butterflies cover it in the summer. The bees used to cover it ,too, but I hardly see one anymore.

Congratulations, Stacey. So far at least you look like you're having fun. Here's to meeting your deadlines!

Hope the process goes smooth for you, a very exciting time starting from scratch vs moving into an existing structure.
Next month will be the 12th anniversary since I did my own. Time really flies by fast!
