After being into blades for years and buying production knives from almost all major brands, and even having a sebbie kicking around somewhere, I decided to take the plunge and bought a Peter Marzitelli Airstream 2.

As would be expected from something handmade by a well respected artist, this knife is everything I've imagined a custom would be, from the fit and finish to its lock-up and overall construction.

It is a decent sized folder but is amazingly light due to the micarta and titanium lined handle.

Ive definitley enjoyed buying production folders over the years (its easier to find the item you want as they're produced in larger numbers, mostly cheaper, etc) but there's something to owning a piece that you know was handmade and has that individuality about it.

Good for you! Peter's Airstream model is my favorite in his line up.
Marzitelli folders aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better quality folder anywhere else, by anyone else.
Peter Marzitelli is one hell of a guy too.

Nice to see a fellow British Columbian here! I was lucky because the airstream was the last one in stock at Dave's Surplus (also a great place to deal with and their knife guy Martin gave me a pretty sweet deal on the purchase)

I was shocked to find out that Peter Marzitelli lives in the lower mainland but that fact adds to the knife's personal appeal for me.

Congrats on getting your first custom knife!!!

I like Peter Marzitelli's work too.

Please post pix when you get it!!

It's always good to run into people from BC in here. There aren't too many, and I've actually met more than one who live pretty close to me.

I have a Marz folding knife which I use almost every day. I love it, and it's so classy and 'non tactical', but with all the technology available. Super light and very slick. His heat treatment is excellent, so easy to bring a sharp edge up and it stays that way a lot longer than any of the high end production knives I've got.

Got nothing but good to say about his knives and him personally. Well done, and a sweet deal to boot. You outta send Peter a six pack!

You must post photos. It is an unwritten law of the custom knife forum. No really, it is. I wouldn't kid you. :D

My photography is right up there with my cooking so hopefully these don't look too horrible :o Thanks again for all your well wishes regarding this new phase of my blade addiction :p

forget what I said about the 'non tactical' nature of Peter's work. That one is totally spy vs. spy:thumbup: Good score!

I own 3 Marz knives. The fit and finish is superb. He is also a great guy to deal with. Congrats on your knife . It will last you a lifetime.
