Hi guys,

Been collecting CRK's for two years now and finally pulled the trigger on an Umnumzaan. This is now my 5th CRK so I can guess I can officially say i'm hooked. Funny thing is, the Umnum was the first knife that led me to CRK but I was always hesitant to purchase one due to the size. My collection started with a small micarta 21, then mammoth ivory damascus mnandi, then small plain damascus 21, then a large numbered CF sebenza and now the umnum. It wasn't until I actually held a large sebenza in my hand that I understood the hype. As another bladeform member said before, a small sebenza is all the knife you'll really ever need, but a large sebenza is all you'll ever want.

Since purchasing the Large Sebenza, I knew immediately that I'd be purchasing an umnum soon enough. However, I figured with the introduction of the new LBS (which i'm not a huge fan of, but won't beat a dead horse) that my window to obtain a pre LBS umnum was getting smaller. Luckily I found a used (like new) Umnum with S35vn yesterday for a great price on the exchange and am now playing the waiting game. I hope it lives up to my expectations. If anyone here wants to chime in on their opinions on this great knife please feel free. I know there are other threads on the subject but I can't resist.

In the mean time, here are some pictures which have been taken by the seller

CAN'T WAIT!

I'd also like to thank bladeforum member cut-n-edge for the great communication and easy transaction.

Cheers,

I am wanting to pull the trigger on a large Sebanza or Unmun. One of these days I keep buying large hard use custom knives but have a Pacific and love it. My best friend got a Green Beret knife when he graduated from SF school. He is in Afghanistan now fighting for our freedoms!

I just got one recently too. It is a fantastic knife and I'm sorry I didn't get one sooner.

Enjoy!

Ajax, lets see some pics of your collection so far:D

This is just a real bad cell phone pic of three of them that I happened to have on my phone. The small damascus 21 is not included in it which is a shame as it has the coated stainless damascus and is rather striking. I'll have to take better pics of the group once the umnum arrives

edit: oops, I guess that's not going to work. I have the picture saved on my desktop. Anyone know how to make it a URL?

You can upload it to a site like imageshack and get a URL that way.

I'm currently playing with different o-rings...It's such a great knife.

Currently have 55D teflon rings on it and it's literally silent but they're deforming more than poly or rubber...

If you're looking, they're dash 006 rings. Lowe's has rubber ones that are perfect fits.

Congratulations on getting an Umnumzaan. It is such a well made knife. Hurry up and post pictures of your collection for us! :D

Since making the purchase I have also been scowering the internet for various o-ring accessories. I am really interested in purchasing a set of high quality glow in the dark rings if possible. Can anyone who may have done this before point me in the direction of a distributor?

I consider the Umnumzaan one of the best general purpose EDC's I have ever carried. Had two, one an August 2011 S30V, no LBS of course and an S35VN non LBS. I had to trade each for an opportunity to grab harder to get knives but was in despair over that . . .

But . . . I just found a brand spanking new in box Zaan from an internet dealer in S30V, sans that lock bar stabilizer but born on August 15, 2011 and it's in the mail on its way to me now. That is nearly a grail for me. In spirit anyway. S30V, no stabilizer but still a contemporary Umnumzaan. I should have it Monday or Tuesday as it shipped Priority Mail from Mesa :D

It still has the Idaho Made stamp but I can live with that. Yes, I'm stoked! One of the best knives one can own if you aren't into all the bling of a fancy custom.

Totally agree - nice find!
