G'day,
I posted a request on Bernard Levines Forum for details on M. Trutschel <Mark Trutschel> the customiser extraordinaire of those LB7's that Dave and I own that have been displayed on this forum, and also Lrv's site.
It led me a merry chase as I had to join an Engravers forum <me..a member of an engravers forum!?> to leave a message for him as I had been told someone with that name was a member.
He has contacted me and he is the customiser of those knives. He states he started customising those LB7's 25 years ago <which ties in with the serial numbers of my LB7's>...did 500 LB'7 customs which explains why he knows his way around those LB7 pins....He lives in Kentucky and is now a custom knife maker.< I believe Uncle Henry's widow also lives in Kentucky.>
He is actually a non posting member of BF with handle 454SS so I have invited him to join our Schrade Sub- Forum and tell us more..e.g. did he sell them at knife shows and how and why he started out on LB7's and where did he get that many <500>?
Hope he shows up....Hoo Roo

Be sure to keep yourself well oiled and check often for corrosion. :p

Congratulations on finding Mark. Well done! Now send him another knife and ask him to top his previous efforts.

Also ask him for pictures of his other efforts.
You pasted obsession about 1500 knives ago!

Nice find on Mark! Now where is my Texas Parer? :D

Well done Larry, that was a long hunt, I remmember you asking about that numerous times years ago. They are beautiful knives. How many knives do you now have in your collection???
