As some of my knife friends know I have been searching for a birth year 110 or 112 with finger grooves for years... Quick and simple instant gratification of ebay appealed to me but the outrageous prices didn't.

Well today After I dropped my wife off at the train station I went to meet a business partner and decided to check the swap meet.

I saw a buck case sitting on a blanket amungst some milsurp.

Heart started pounding... Opened it up... Wow a Titanium Buck. Checked the year. Wow... A 186 in my birth year.... Asked the price... wallet is now 20 dollars lighter.

Years long search is finally over.

I will look for some replacement screws as I do not like that thick TI clip. Likely end up turning my own at the shop tomorrow.

Talk about the Ideal belated Xmas gift!

Edit:
What makes this more special is that it had a life as a military knife before it entered my hands. The stories it could tell me...

Congratulations on not only your birth year Buck, but an extremely rare Buck knife!:thumbup::thumbup:
It looks to be in very good shape too.

$20.00….I thought only Armand came across deals like that!

Now the next question... 316 or Ti for the screws. A nice set of bronze heat anodized Ti screws is what I am thinking... and Possible royal blue ano the scales with bronze in the Mayo cutouts.

Yes, a rare hard to find Buck. The 1st model they offered a pocket clip on. The blade is 425M steel. DM

Great catch! Congratulations!
I think if I found a Buck made in my birth year, it would most likely be worn out, and probably a fixed blade ... Did Buck even have a folding knife in 1955?

Yes, a rare and usually expensive Buck.

Consideration on trying to keep it original to retain value when talking screws ? Or if you plan on a forever pal, do as you please.
Before the day is over you should receive several knowledgeable opinions.

110s were 61 am I not correct ? But, the first folders were part of the original hand made era. Surplus lifeboat folders, with Buck handmade blades inserted. About three or four times the cost of that Titi 110. I have never been able to afford one.

300

Congratulation's Petah,

The tang stamp you have been looking for and the deal of the century on a semi-rare Buck knife. Awesome!!!!!

I thought the 110 was introduced way back in 19 and 64 (hence the 50th anniversary being in 2014)
At anyrate, I out date the 110 by 9 or so years.
I think the 300 series started in the mid 1960's?
