I have my first Spyerco coming, a 440V Military. Up till now it has been easy to resist the ugly blade with a hole in it. However after reading all the rave reviews about the Military and 440V I could resist no longer.
It will probably take awhile to flick it open with a hole instead of a stud. Does the pivot screw adjust tension? I assume Tuf-glide is OK to lubricate.
Are there any other secrets I should know?

Thanks

Tuf-Glide is just fine, and you probably won't have to adjust the blade tension at all. You'll be doing the "Spyderco Drop" in no time!Congrats.

Congratulations! I honestly think you will be smacking yourself in the forehead asking yourself why you didn't buy one of these Spyderco's sooner.

Bo,

I know how you feel. It took me a while to warm up to the Military as well. Once I did however, I was glad for it. I am even considering getting another.
Enjoy your knife and happy cutting.

I'm sure you'll enjoy and appreciate it a lot. I believe it's one of the fastest folders to open, sometimes even faster than autos.

What finally made me decide to get the Military is when I read in an older thread one person likes his Military as much as his Sebenza, Now that is impressive.

About a year ago I absolutely hated the idea of ever owning a Spyderco. I balked at everyone that I knew that owned one. Then I bought my first, a Blade Forum Native. I figured I get so much good free knowledge here that I could at least support them by buying one.

After receiving my native I was impressed and I started frequenting this forum. I couldn't believe the quality, support and enthusiasm of Spyderco and the forumites. I then bought a Starmate, Military, Endura II and a Renegade. The hole didn't affect me at all and took no getting used to after always using a stud.

The other big thing is the loyalty to the customer by Spyderco and especially by Sal. I am very impressed with my whole Spyderco experience to say the least.

I only wish Spyderco would now make a car.
