Since I've been sick, this is a little late, but here is the pic.

That's a cool knife, I might have to see about getting a Scottish flag Sebenza scale made up for my self. :D:thumbup:

"The flag should be lighted at all times, either by sunlight or by an appropriate light source."
I'm guessing it's not illuminated when you have it in your sheath, pocket, or drawer.
"The flag should not be used for any decoration in general. Bunting of blue, white and red stripes is available for these purposes. The blue stripe of the bunting should be on the top."
"The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise impressed..."
Maybe people feel patriotic by owning something with a flag printed on it; but it's not. It's improper flag etiquette, and prohibited by US policy. The "flag" plates and napkins people break out on the fourth of july are the worst... how some one can wipe their mouth on the flag of our country, toss it in the trash, and think that's okay is beyond my understanding.

I was basically taught this about the Scottish flag in school:
The National flag of Scotland should never be flown above another national flag on the same staff as this would suggest superiority or inferiority of one flag, or Nation, over another

The Scottish flag should never be allowed to drag along the ground.

The Scottish flag should always flown the correct way up.

A tattered or faded Scottish flag should be replaced with a new flag.

The flag of Scotland, when in such condition that it's no longer a fitting emblem of Scotland, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning in private.

This comes from a frankly far more combative time in Scotlands history where flying the flag was much a bigger deal than it is today. I would still happily carry a Scottish flag on my Sebenza the same as any American would their flag regardless of it breaking the rules.

Thats an awesome idea. I wouldn't mind having one of those myself! Although I'm not native, Scottland is in my blood.

I understand, respect and share your love of the flag. But it would seem to me that a graphic on a knife is not the flag, but rather is a graphical depiction of the flag. Just as you might place a photo of a flag in a dark drawer, and find that not to be violative of flag etiquette, I would contend that the same conditions apply to the graphical depiction of a flag on a knife.

More important, one's intent is paramount. I find no basis at all for the apparent contention that someone who makes or possesses a flag graphic Sebenza intends to demonstrate anything but respect and love for our nation and its flag. That point is dispositive. Suggesting otherwise is unwarranted and is itself disrespectful.

Edited: I share your view Mr. Smurf about flags on napkins and bikinis, etc. There is a sliding scale where one can move from respect to disrespect, the latter of which we should seek to avoid.

Just my view on things. :)

More to the point, thats a fine looking piece of knife, and I would be most happy to have it in my pocket. Its very clean and linear.

It's pretty simple. Either a country's flag is only used as a flag, or it's fair game for anything. The US flag became fair game in the 1960s. First the radicals burnt the US flag in protest in the U and abroad, then cops started wearing it on their sholder and the flood gates opened for bikinis.

The sebenza graphic may not be an exact flag, but it's close enough that everyone knows what it is.

Nice Knife.

If you can burn the flag in protest you can put it on a knife in Pride.

Nice knife I saw one without any color and regretfully I hesitated.
