Got my TSAR in today. For any of you who are debating.... go ahead and pull the trigger. I love this watch it's built like a tank. It showed up in a small black cardboard box which is what I expected from a gov issue watch. It came with the rubber strap marked Marathon. I though the rubber strap to be to small in width however it was comfortable and a bit stretchy. I took it off and put my vintage made Bond nato on till my other black nato shows up. The reported time loss over a month is about 1-2 seconds. I'll have to see how it goes. The sapphire crystal is quite thick and I think you would need to purposefully smash it to get it to break. the crown is nice and easy to adjust and the date @ 4:30 is nice.

So there you go TSAR in a nutshell. The GSAR is the same watch but in auto for you auto die hards out there. I think that there worth every penny and should last for centuries to come.

Nice looking time piece. What was the price if you don't mind me asking?

I got lucky and got it for 400 off a fleabay auction. I think countycomm has them for 475 in limited numbers. Mine is stamped the sept 2010 run.

Great looking watch! I finally picked up my GSAR as my Iraq redeployment gift to myself:D I too agree; Marathon/Swiss watches are tank-built and I haven't fully tested the bomb-proof construction, but myine has taken some serioius knocks and still looks pristine.

Congrats and enjoy...it's my SHTF and end-of-the-world watch:thumbup:

This is my first Marathon. I was a bit worried about the quality when I decided to pick it up but I'm thoroughly impressed.

Congrats bro, welcome to the Marathon family! I own a GSAR and it doesn't come off my wrist, damn fine watches imo.

I am really trying to save for a JSAR, I'm close. I wish the JSAR had trit markers.

Congrats on an excellent watch. If you can swing the cost, I highly recommend the bracelet as it really completes the watch. The only complaint I have is that the bezel lume pip fell off after two years on my TSAR. Marathon has agreed to have the bezel replaced but I haven't sent it in yet.

trit JSARS are to be released sometime in '12 or very early '13. I was trying to hold out too but then I got the word last Saturday on when they would be out and pulled the trigger on a non trit JSAR. I was tempted to get the TSAR but im a sucker for big watches...
