Finally NEEDED my edc

This forum needs more activity.

My wife called me to ask for some help with a charity her and her friends organize this time of year. I had no idea what they needed. When I got there, she showed me a small mountain of cardboard boxes that needed to be broken down for recycling.

She said, "Hey, you don't happen to have one of your knives on you do you?"

Me and my Rat 1 went to work. Thank goodness I had it. It took me 30 mins to shred that mountain. They had acumulated about 80 lbs (2 huge trashbags) of cardboard.

Nice to finally need my edc.

The knife was super dull as one might guess. It took me about 10 mins on a fine dmt stone to bring it back.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you need one of those Rat 1s in D2. I'd get the carbon fiber handled one if I was you, they're more classy.
 
Yep, I agree on the D2 carbon fiber handled Rat-1. Just got mine in today. Looks like it is going to be a fine EDC.
 
Great work. Rat 1 is a fantastic piece of work. How good is it....Called in to play with a knife.
 
Yeah, was nice to need it without manufacturing an excuse.... Lol
The D2 comments got me thinking. I like learning to sharpen. But on a folder that doesn't get abused like a camp/fixed blade.... I can see the value there
