I've been wanting one for a long time but always bought something else that was less expensive. I shopped it hard. The best price I could come up with is $110 shipped. I'm anxious and excited.

Congratulations on your purchase. I don't carry mine, but love owning it for it's own sake. OH

i really like this knife but the handle is kinda big and blocky....those with big hands will likely be very happy, those with small hands can still use it just might find it kinda blocky and not perfect. all in all a nice large chunk of steel and a great knife.

DDD, a good move. I think you will really like owning that Buck model. Since you travel back and forth it will be a great truck knife for you on the road. DM

Nice score! The 124 is such a
great looking tank of a knife!

I'm not sure I'll carry mine either but as you elude its a good looker. Buck, like Ruger make good, functional equipment at an affordable price. I try to give both most of my business.
I'm not a collector. I buy knifes for function. This will be my 6th Buck knife that I've bought over the past 35 years. I still have them all.

Great knife. I have used mine at deer camp to quarter a deer and cut it up. The other plus is it looks cool. I had someone make me a Randall type sheath.

870, I did the same with mine, (skinned, quartered and cut up a mule deer). I thought it worked well for this cutting task. The handle is blocky but a small item. The blade has good width, which allows for a sweeping deep belly and enough point. Agreed, it has handsome lines. It's what a large fixed blade should look like. DM

Really beefy.
Think of it being a little more than a mora knife on steroids.
Life will be that much sweeter now.

The mail man dropped it off a little while ago. What a beautiful knife. The workmanship is perfect. Its sharp as hell right out of the box. I've already nicked my finger.

Congrats! The 124 quickly became one of my favorites (out of all my blades). I actually ended up buying a second to put away when I found one for a good price.

Here's my user. I (carefully) sanded the micarta to 400 grit for better grip in wet conditions (I live in the PNW), and made a heavier leather sheath for it.

I wish this place had like buttons

D, you can make them with copper stock rods and washers from your nearby hardware store. DM
