Finally put my order into RMJ for my first quality hawk. I ordered a kestrel in black and a rump along with a few other little goodies, I'm so excited but now I have to wait the probably 2 months until I it shows up at my door.

If you track RMJ on their facebook page they are good about responding so you can keep tabs on your Kestrels progress. You wont regret your purchase.
How do you plan on using it? Mil /LE? Outdoor tool? Safequeen(hopefully not)?

I know there great about keeping you updated. Truthfully I bought it because I wanted it and as far as use it's probably going to live in my truck and be used when ever and for whatever I can find. I defiantly don't "need" it but I don't need 20 some-odd knives either. I do have some military buddies that are interested in checking it out tho.

Did you go with the original, thicker Kestrel, or the Kestrel Feather?? I love them both but there is a noticeable weight difference when swinging. Can't go wrong with anything from RMJ, congrats!!

I went with the original thicker one. I like heavier tools and I doubt my ability to stop at one hawk from these guys so maybe eventually I'll own the feather as well.

Well hopefully that's not the case but either way it will be worth the wait. I'll wait as long as the original time estimate and then send a request for an update.
