I picked up a used large 21 with cocobolo on the forums and really loving it! Having only been in the hobby for a few months, I've always been curious about the Sebenza. Talk about that "bank vault-like feel" or "hydraulic feel" and tight tolerances were Very appealing to me, but more so the latter.
When I first got it, the action was pretty stiff, yet smooth and I didn't have an issue deploying the blade as my short and stubby fingers naturally push in the same arc. Having actually worked at a bank, it certainly felt like opening and closing the vault!
Today, I decided to give it a cleaning to see if it would free up the action a bit and boy, did it! Upon taking it apart, I noticed that there was a ton of grime on the parts and that one of the washers looked like it was flipped, so I gave everything a windex bath. After everything got wiped down, I gave it a thin coat of lube and left the washers oriented the way they came. I was super paranoid about pinching the washers so I must've checked it like 5 times before I put in the screw. When I finally did and deployed the blade with my thumb, holy crap it flew out like it was an automatic. Turns out that I didn't tighten the pivot screw all the way...haha. After tightening it, it was still extremely smooth, but it didn't fly out like before. Took it apart again and added more lube, but used too much because it became a little stiff. Then I decided to start over and flip the washer to the correct side and reapply the lube to see if I could get a middle ground. The action was much better, but could still use a little work. Having seen some videos about applying a little lube to the detent ball, I figured it couldn't hurt. Now it's as close to perfect without sanding down the washers. The blade drops freely, still has that solid feeling, and most importantly, I didn't destroy the washers.
The only negative about the knife for me is the lock bar. That thing is STIFF.
Can't wait to make it my user!
