Finally pulled the trigger on a mini

I've been toying with the idea of a mini emerson for a while after liking the mini cqc-15 (3.5 inch blade) but finding it too big for EDC. I was in need of a 3" blade and almost grabbed a mini ritter, but at the last minute decided to purchase the mini cqc7. I've always found the mini grip a hair too small so it ends up falling out of rotation and on the exchange so hopefully I like the mini 7.

Just figured I'd stop by and say hello.

Sweet! Have never had a mini 7. Only mini I have ever held was the A-100. Is yours the tanto or the A blade? I have found the 7A to be my most used small Emerson.

Can't wait to hear how you like it.

I went exactly the opposite direction. My first Emerson was a Super CQC-7. Go big or go home.:p

After using a regular roadhouse for weeks now I can't see where a super would benefit me doing chores a regular won't do.

Actually, since the regular 7 is really kind of small, the super 7 is about the size of most regulars. It only has a 3.75" blade, but it has a massive handle.

I thought the mini 7 was pointless given the size of the standard 7. Then I bought a mini 7 because the price was too good to pass it up. Love the mini 7 now.

I love my Mini 7. I use mine as a work knife, and find the tanto blade very useful. It has become my EDC. I scrape lots of stickers and labels off of glass, etc. I like the tanto tip for that kind of work. The chisel grind works well. You can turn the blade over and use the other side for a different angle. Just like a chisel! Imagine that! Cutting hose can be done straight, it just takes more attention.
Before the Mini 7 I was carrying a Mini CQC15 and liked it also. But the handle was just slightly cramped for me. I would like to see the Mini 15 blade in a 7 or a Roadhouse handle. That might be my perfect work knife.

Mini-7A is a great little knife. I have the Wave version without serrations. I think EKI should make the Halfmate in a production format as to have more options for those bound to the 3" blade pocketknife laws.
