After lurking this forum for a year or so I finally registered a few months ago. Man I have learned a lot! I started out buying cheapo Gerber knives in I have already jumped into the custom world. Ever since I found this site I have admired the work of Ray Laconico. His simplistic designs always caught my eye. His work is always snagged up right away and I had a hard time getting my hands on one.

I had a feeling the knife would be coming yesterday and I wouldn't be home. My wife bought us Phillies tickets to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. It was a great game (great present) but I was looking forward to coming home and looking in the mailbox. Sure enough it was there waiting for me! I like to open my knives in private so I can carefully examine it and appreciate it. As you probably assumed there was no disapointment! The knife is smooth and sleek, fits great in the pocket and you hardly know it is there. I haven't really cut anything with it except for the dog food bag but it cuts like a laser. I am super excited to have an opportunity to own a Laconico folder and I hope it is not my last.

Here are the pics and I also threw in some pics of my collection since I have joined BF. Thanks for looking. Please excuse my poor photo skills. The pics do not do it justice at all.

Nice! I really admire Ray Laconico's work and hope to follow in your footsteps and buy one in the future. I also think it's fitting that in its complimentary sense, the etymology of "laconico" means one who makes valuable, useful statements with very few words, avoiding long-winded rhetorical flourishes. Analogically, Ray Laconico's knife designs strike me as statements of valuable, useful, and refreshingly unadorned works.

Congrats!

Cheers,
Isaeus

Thanks for the replies guys! I have a feeling this is going to get carried a lot. These might be the only pretty pictures!
