After almost a year of looking I was finally able to find a user B11 at a great price and jumped on it.

From the Reviews Ive seen it is the pound for pound king of chopper with its incredible light weight and high chopping power.

However I am curious as to how it stacks up against the competition. Lets say against the DF, FBM, NMFBM, KZ's, and Rat Daddy/Mastiff, how does it hold up in the chopping as well as utility department?

I guess I wont know for sure till It arrives and I take it out back for some work but Im hoping to score an NMFBM at Knob this year and am curious if I would even use it with a Rat Daddy, Junglas, and B11 on board already.

Nice score you made today. You won't be disappointed. Hope the Rat Daddy is serving you well.

B11s are pretty darn nice. A great combination of length and weight.

Now go cut up some neighbors bushes or something - and POST SOME PICs!!:D

.

Wonderful knife. Always on my backpack. The extra length, light weight, Res-C comfort, INFI.... fantastic. I had a DogFather, which is a great chopper and wouldn't doubt that several of the real heavyweights could outchop it, but for a light carry chopper the B11 is without equal.

No wonder you were selling those knives recently. A B11 AND a NMFBM? Nice! Got a B10 on order but a Battle Mistress in some form is my Grail.

I had a convexed FBMLE that bit really deep. Definitely way more shock transfer to the hand. It seemed to get stuck more.

The B11, for the weight is my favorite. Chops great. Way less shock to the hand. The B11 is also way better suited to light slashing than any other in the length range (outside an actual machete).

The KZII also does not get out as much as my B11. The KZII (which I convexed with a polished edge) Bites harder and takes a deeper bite, but it also stings the hand more. I went with the machined handles, and will probably eventually shape them by hand. I figured I could do it my self later, if I did not like the quilting, but wanted to give it a spin first.

If I had to pick one to keep, and one to go..........I really think the B11 stays! The KZII (or my old FBMLE) are cooler, but not as lugable, or versatile (at double the weight it seems).

Last time I went camping, I wore the B11, CABS and Muck on a baldric rig for two days (much of which was spent fishing). I don't think I would have been able to keep the KZII on for that long. I think the whole rig, baldric and all three knives combined weighs less than just he KZII with sheath.

NMFBM is king. FFBM is a close second. The B11 is not as heavy, not quite the brute... but is very fast in the hand and is an amazing chopper in its own right.

I use the B11 more than any knife I own at this point. Mostly batonning for BBQ preparation but also quite a bit of general purpose cutting. Fantastic blade... :D

Yea I am glad you took that B11! I was really pulling my teeth to prevent myself from purchasing the one you got, since I just got a BWM and HHFSH, I shouldnt really buy another INFI blade for now...Nice score though!

Nice score! If I hadn't just ordered 2 B-10s, I might've snagged that one. Congrats!

Got the knife today! It feels great in hand and is really forward heavy. A born chopper.

I took it out back and did some chopping with the B11 and Rat Daddy LE

To my surprise, they have exactly the same chopping ability with the Rat Daddy being a much better blade for actual knife tasks with its better choil and spine hump that is a nice place to res the thumb.

The B11 is a little lighter but in hand they feel equally fast with the B11's forward weight making it feel a little heavy and the RD's perfect balance making it feel light and fast

They are about the same size with the B11 having a 1/3 inch longer cutting edge.

Thanks for the write up K... Interesting but not totally surpising. Theres a reason they call it the daddy, right?

I am completely convinced after a month or two of ownership and use that the Rat Daddy might be the best big production blade ever made. Its powerful, light, comfortable and well balanced.

The big thing about choppers for me is not just chopping power but ease of carry and versatility. My RDLE is 23 ounces and is a breeeze to carry. And honestly I don't do anything except game processing and really fine wood work with small knife anymore.

I can make better feather sticks with my RDLE than I can with my ESEE 3.

I think Im going to but the B11 up for trade. There's no way its going to dethrone my Rat Daddy.

Aww, and you just got it, too. Well, you gotta do what you gotta do.
I just received my B11 too but don't have anything else to compare it to, so I'll hold onto it. I've got a B10LE on the way and plan to get in on the LBNMSHBM action next year, though--are you?

I really like the B11 but I want a NMFBM or Gladius :D and since the rat daddy and B11 have the same role I don't want to keep two and have one sit around. Especially when so many people would love to have one.

I wish I had the discipline to only keep one knife for each purpose  I've dropped lots of cash getting several of the same model lately because... well, just because!
