I have been wanting a new EDC for quite a while. And, soon I am going on a camping trip, and I always make myself a camping knife that I clean up and sell at the end of the trip.

Here they are.

First my EDC, and a story. My Grandfather died a year ago. Before he died, he was the oldest living NASCAR driver (GOOGLE him, Lloyd Moore and Nascar) Beyond all that, he was a great man, and loved his family. I found a few old files in with some of his old tools. Gram said I could have them, and I was really excited when I noticed one of them said Moore Brothers on it. I have never even heard of them, but considering his last name, I thought it was cool. Here is the knife I made for myself from that old file. I probably wont carry it every day, I want to keep it in pristine condition.

And my camper for the trip in June. Forged from 1095.

Wow Matt, great looking Knives. Your Grandfather would have been proud of them and you!

Both sweet. It is great you were able to keep the markings from the original manufacturer on that file knife. Great piece of family history too! Your kids will love when that one gets passed on.

Thanks all. I have to make a sheath for it still. So far it all has turned out the way I wanted it to.
