As some of you may already know I went from living outside/in my Jeep to being inside and working a ton, pretty much that's been a huge shock since I love the freedom to do as I please, come and go when I like and be outdoors.

Today was the first in 13 days that I took sometime to go test my new BK77 & BK10, burn some stuff, eat some food and recharge my internal battery.

I'm of the nature that if I am around to many people for to long ill snap, grab my pack and walk away from whatever im doing in life so I need times like this... Alright that's enough personal BS for one thread, time for some knife fun.

I thought I would head back to the spot where I did the July contest and see if my camp furniture was still there.

When I was getting close to the spot I spotted a large size 11ish man barefoot print in the sand, odd for this area where know one goes.

I get to my camp and sure enough it's mostly there but looks like someone had been there.

After looking around some I find Taco Bell wrappers and other trash floating around.

Time for some BK77 and BK10 fun!

That said if I want to process up some really big wood in good amounts ill still grab the saw. ;)

Lets test this 77 on a four foot log.

The S30V has zero flex in it as it sits in the log curved split and in a knot on top of that.

I think I have a new favorite knife.... Then again I sa7 that after each Becker I use it seem.

Alright finally time to get to some riverside relaxation and some food.

Awesome. Looks like a great time, and that 77 is gorgeous. Looks like you put it to good use!

Ciabatta...nice.

Very cool man, How does the finish on the 77 hold up? I've got my BK7 looking like a BK77 right now...but I'm sure that will change as soon as I put it through a log...1095 aint S30V after all.

I love coming back to a shelter and finding it still intact after some time. Sucks that some idiots have to leave their trash around though. When I was a little kid, probably 7 or 8, my dad took me hiking and showed me how to build a lean-to. When I returned on my own when I was 11 or 12, I found it was still there, and had actually been added onto, with sides built in around the lean-to. Even when I cam back when I was 15 or 16, indeed the lean-to still stood, and some parts had been replaced with newer logs. The last time I was in that area, when I was probably 20 (I'm 25), the lean-to, amazingly, was still there, and again had been repaired and added to. I'm sure none of the original logs and branches we used when I was 8 were still there, but indeed it still stood in the same spot, facing the same way, but by now was a fully encapsulated shelter. Amazing that a temporary, afternoon-built structure on the side of a trail has continued to stand for nearly two decades. Obviously hikers had come across it, recognizing it for what it was, and had been inspired to hang around for a few minutes, throw some branches on the top, and probably take a few pictures of the strange little hobbit home in the woods.

I'm sure whoever came across your camp probably had a similar reaction, and you probably created a few nice afternoons for some woods-wanderers (even if they were careless with their trash).

Yeah I love me some Ciabatta bread! My understanding of the S30V 77 is that the blade is unfinished and what you see is just the steel so it will hold up forever but it my become slight less reflective as I use it.

Maybe someone could post photo of a very well used 77.

The wrap job on the BK11 is boss, man. I've never seen it done like that. I actually didn't like the 11 at all until I saw that. It always seemed too small for my needs, considering I already have the 14. I may just have to go out and buy an 11.

I know how it is having absolutely no time for yourself. I recently started work again a little over a month ago and I pretty much have worked constantly, never know when I'm going to have a day off, so there goes trying to plan anything. It's been awhile since I've gotten to the woods and my knives feel neglected. I feel your pain, bro. I really do. Glad to see you got time to go out.

So my 11 is a dual wrap with two tone paracord, first I gutted some paracord and wrap the knife once, then using two strands of paracord (one green and one black) I melted them together and did the twisted side wrap where the cord crosses over the other one on each side. Feels really nice in hand now.

Nice! If I had seen this before Kabar was sold out I might have one.

Those dogs look tasty too.

Freaking awesome, I need one of those there BK77's...
