Finally I finished up my first locking folder built solely by myself! I learned a lot making this one, there are a few design bugs to work out that I'll take care of on the next one I make and a few things I'll probably do differently, but overall I'm pretty happy with this! I've been wanting to make this for a long time, I've built a lot of friction folders, but I'm pretty happy I finally completed a liner lock, and it works too
It locks up real solid, there is no blade play in any direction, its got a smooth action. Since the photos I've added a Ti pocket clip and have carried it daily. It's been performing really well.
Heres the specs on it.
3/16" O1 blade with beadblasted and tumbled finish.
.100 thick Ti liner lock beadblasted finish
Black G10 handle scales with beadblast finish and Orange G10 backspacer.
S/S hardwear
Blade length: 3"
Handle length: 4" (will actually be shorter once I fix the details around the stop pin placement)
OAL: 6 7/8"
Heres some pics. I welcome feedback and input on the design guys!
I'm thinking of calling this one the "Charles" after my late uncle John Charles Price who passed away this pass the day before Thanksgiving this year, He was a machinist buy trade, an avid outdoorsman, knife and gun collector and gun machinist. I grew up loving cutlery and the outdoors thanks in part to him! He will be missed greatly!
