My Busse strop arrived (where I had it mailed to) on May 31st. But I haven't been there to pick it up until yesterday. Only problem is: now that I'm here where my strop is, all but two of my Busse knives are elsewhere, and I probably won't be back to where they are for a couple months....

By the way, the strop is a great design. Very slick!

Can someone tell me about the grey side and the green side? And is the leather's tension adjustable by twisting the handle in relation to the lower metal cylinder?

Thanks.

IIRC, the grey side is course and the green is your fine side. A & B.

As for the tension, you should be able to twist it, depending on whether you want it for a standard grind or a convex grind

I have gotta get me one of them. Any one compare these to say the leather glued to wood versions like I saw in a catalog somewhere?

IMO, these would be more versatile and better. With the ones being glued to the wood, you do not have any flexibility (in a sense) for convex edges.

with the convex edges, you have to sharpen them on a slack belt. So with this design, it will contour to the convex edge and truly sharpen it

I'm sure one of the other hogs will be along soon to give better info. :)

What's the advatage though, for a convex edge for instance?

From what I can see, the adjustable tension. Sorry, I cannot explain it any better, someone who has one would be better able to help.

I saw those strops in the pics from Blade, but I didn't know they were for sale. So... how can I get one and how much? :D

The company store will be stocking them, right?

Price? Not the slightest idea, I am a Busse noob. :D

I hope they will, guess I'll just have to keep an eye out for them. :)

Anyone know how well this will work on kids? Dang neighbor hood kids on my lawn again :D

But seriously, these are SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET. Voracious used the show one and did a few knives. They were VERY nice. And Progunner did a couple for me and they too were VERY nice. A must have

I don't know about the rest of you air bleeder strop owners, but I am having fun learning to use this thing. I have a Lee valley strops and this thing puts it too shame, much, much easier to use. Now I just nee a FBM model like Randucci made. I think Chuck should commission Tim to make one for the Chuck-chete! :D
