I have been waiting forever for dealers to get a stonewashed plain edged CQC7 and I just saw that knifecenter had them in stock. I even called to make sure they look at it in person and confirm that it is stonewashed (for some reason it still says satin finish). Success! Ordered and I got notification that it will ship this morning! Will post pics but UPS ground might take over a week.

Just bought a 7A-SF from Action Concepts, my first Emerson. Now have to wait for it to make the trans-pacific and trans-Australia trip. Finally a folder I can take out on patrol and not have to worry about whether or not it will do what I ask of it.

Just got my 2008 7A from Action Concepts today. Now I can retire my Cold Steel Recon 1 and give it a new home with one of the other guys on my team. Quick question: what sort of coating did they put on the '08 knives to make the satin finish?

It is called Cerakote, which as you will see, is a ceramic coating. Personally, I see nothing wrong with it. Yes, it will scratch eventually, but so will the BT coating and the primary bevel on the new stone washed satin. Admittedly though, the stone washed blades are very nice!

I would guess that if you are going to be in a marine environment for a prolonged period, both the Cerakote and BT finishes should offer some additional protection from corrosion.
