I was playing around in the yard with my Junglas and decided to take out my Shadow I and see how it compared. I found the round grip made it much harder to control the blade angle and prevent deflections, but when it hit true, it bit deeper than the Junglas. I'm guessing that's due to the hollow grind. I only did a little bit of batoning, but it seemed to perform very satisfactorily at that as well. Maybe I'll get the hang of keeping the orientation correct. I honestly don't think I'm going to be using it as much as my Junglas or my soon to arrive TGLB (those warranties are quite the warm/fluffy safety blanket), but it is now definitely out of the safe-queen zone.
