Well, I finally decided to make the move from part-time maker to full time maker. I figured after selling 17 knives this month it just made sense. My kids are sure happy to have Daddy working from home and my wife has been the driving force to make it happen. I want to thank everyone who has endured my new guy questions with patience and understanding and to all for the support I've received. It sure feels like the right decision.

Be well,

Mark

I sure appreciate the congratulations. It has been a kind of scary process. I knew in my heart that I wanted to make knives, but that nasty spectre of self doubt would rear its head and say that it will just be a hobby I enjoy. My wife and I have had to make some serious sacrifices to make sure one of us works from home to be with the kids. Now, we both do and hopefully in the next year she can be my right hand woman making this venture a success.

It sure feels good.

Be well,

Mark Roe

good luck Mark
most guys I know get thrown in to it because of a job loss or the like
or they don't have a job that includes Insurance and is low paying anyway..
it's a hard row to hoe but it can be done and done well (thinking long term).
it's nice if you have a wife that works just as a backup just in case..
just don't burn yourself out.. it is nice to be home as much as you want to be but it has it's draw backs too..at the end of the day I can't wait to get away from the house  :D good luck

Good luck to you Mark. Going fulltime is also on my agena, hopefully within the next year. I'll have my 30 years in where I work and I'm eligible for 30 and out. The bennies are my biggest worry.:(
