Finally retiring my original leatherman supertool... It's run it's course and definitely deserves a break(it's also went into hiding)

So now I'm torn between to multitools to replace it- the sog b66 powerassist or the leatherman supertool 300 in black

What's your guys views and opinions on the 2? I love the look and load out of them both so it's not a matter of weight or tools- quality and usability is what matters

(also- how the heck do you wear the leatherman molle sheath on your belt???)

I got the Leatherman 300 as a replacement for my ST, and it's a very worthy replacement. Hefty, very smooth operation of the tools, and replaceable wirecutters if need be. That was crucial to me- the wirecutters were what killed my old one.

That's true...
I'm curious about the black one because it also has those crimpers in the pliers and the different sheath that I still cant wrap my mind around

I have both, the ST300 is the black oxide version. To be honest you can't go wrong with either one. I do like the ST300 because it does have a beefier feel and since I always carry a dedicated folder (or two). I hardly ever use the knife. I do prefer the compound leverage and the needle nose on the SOG. The SOG also opens easier one handed. I switched out the cases on both for aftermarket leather sheaths. I carry the SOG in a comb sheath with a minimag, I carry the ST300 in a all leather case that is supposed to be for a large 110 style folder. The ballistic case that comes with with ST300 is well constructed, and I keep that on my pack or vest. Hope this helps

I have the LM300 myself. It's very heavy duty and fits my large hands very well. I added a Victorinox L wrench, Chapman Ratchet Wrench, and a Pocket Tool II to add to the versatility of my 300. A set of my most used bits rides in the front pocket of the standard pouch. Everything fits into the pouch too.
I also have the Universal Tool Adapter, more bits, 1/4" socket adapter, sockets ect. in another pouch. This is my truck setup and will do everything I need it to do.

I think in leaning more towards the leatherman seeing as I don't really need the knife blades per se I always have other knives- I think the only thing id really mis from the sog would be the v cutter and the composite grip strength setup... Maybe the one handed open too but the leatherman also wins for the price- about $60 to the sogs about $90

I'd go with the ST 300. Here is my review of the 300. Great great all around tool.
