Finally used my Beckers/ bk-17 love

I got the chance to go on a fishing/camping trip and too along all my Beckers and wanted to share my thoughts. I found the bk-22 to be too thick and heavy for most tasks and the bk-7 to be too large for finer cutting needs. The bk-17 was good to near perfect for my camp needs. Its task list included cutting rope, cleaning two trout, making fire/feather sticks, sharping a marshmallow stick, and slicing up all the potatoes I could eat. Over the course of the three day trip I did not need to sharpen it. This knife is the best knife I own in terms of a bush knife. Keep in mind that when I go into the woods I always have a axe or hatchet for chopping and hammering needs and do not baton with my knives. If I did not carry a hatchet I may of liked the bk-22 more. And if I had to fight off a wild animal my bk-7 would be my second choice, right behind any large caliber gun. As for my buddies they liked the bk-22, mostly because of the wow factor. I hope this helps with anyone who is on the fence about the bk-17. And don't let this discourage anyone form getting a bk-22 or bk-7, they are both great knives that I'm proud to own.

Yep, We'll give you a break because you are new. Pictures are required or it didn't happen.

Great little review. Welcome to our little corner of BF!
