FINALLY welcomed a new member to the family...the 0561!!

Hello all. As being a newer member to the ZT family, I have decided to give a large shout out to the makers of the zt056x and to all who own one in their family. I have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting to get my hands on one of these magnificent creations. And finally, I did, and now I've never been more happier. Lol but seriously, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how you felt when you un-boxed your first 0560 or 0561!

Congrats on the new knife! When I unboxed mine I first noticed its weight and size. After carrying my 0301 on and off for a few months I had got used to it's bulk and I didn't even notice I had it on me anymore. When I started carrying the 0561, I noticed how much lower it sat in my pocket and that its lighter weight was more noticeable. I'm sure the more I carry it the more I will get used to it. All in all, I love everything about the 0561 and don't regret purchasing it. Only bad thing about the 0561 is that has furthered my curiosity about Hinderer knives...I don't think my credit card can handle that

It actually took me a while to warm up to mine. The agressive jimping, in particular, was a little off-putting. However, time was the great elixir and I now love it and carry it all the time. The ease and smoothness with which it opens is really amazing. I'll be sitting on the sofa flicking it open, ad infinitum, and I'll have to stop myself for fear that I might be causing undue wear.

I had chills when I unboxed my 0560, it is my favorite knife to this day... Took some breaking in but is perfect now. On a side note I picked up an 0561 blem to carry at work and that one required no break in at all. Unless I'm in an airport or someplace similar you can bet you will find an 056x in my pocket.

Yeah, got an 0561 about a week ago and at first I thought it was HUGE! But the shape and contours actually make it easier to carry than some smaller knives I have. I've carried it every day since I got it and I really don't think about it anymore. Excellent quality and useful. Will definitely scare the "regular folks" though, so I may not carry it every day. We'll see.

Congrats! I have had my 561 for about 2 weeks and I love it. For me, as soon as I got mine I knew it was my new edc. I technically unboxed several to pick the one I liked best. We have an awesome knife shop nearby, so awesome that they actually take the time to encourage customers to go through their stock and find the particular knife of that model you like best. I was definitely excited as well as impressed by the quality as I unboxed mine for the first time. It was my first ZT and I just picked up a 550 that I love as well.

Edge927, I know what you mean. I purchased a 0561 and had to wait a while for it, so while I was waiting, I traded a guy at work for a 550 so I could hold myself off. It is a wonderful site to see them side by side!

I'm carrying my new 0561 today and I really like it. I've carried a few large folders before but this one is even bigger. The blade isn't that much longer than my other folders but the handle is, especially the top to bottom dimension. Also the closed dimension top to bottom. But when carrying it, the knife just disappears in my my pocket and I don't even notice that it is there.

That's what really surprised me with the 0561. I was concerned that such a large knife wouldn't be comfortable enough for edc. I was definitely wrong. It really does disappear in the pocket, that's pretty impressive for such a large knife.

Pretty much feel the same as all you guys. I just got mine on Saturday from a giveaway

. It hasn'tlleft my pocket since and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I am also really enjoying all the great people here in the Kershaw /ZT forum.

I felt pretty much the same way, saying big words like "magnificent creations". I even made a thread or 2 about it.
I still feel that way every time I carry it. I pre ordered mine, and it has changed my life, no other knife will ever be the same.
Now take it to the next level and get a tilt:applause:

I would love to just see one in person. It's been some time since I've been to any knife shows. Maybe it's time to search around and find one! Lol

My wife got me a 0561 for Christmas. I told her, in passing (September), it was something I really wanted...awesome woman. It was waiting under the tree wrapped and innocuous. The actual size did surprise me but it is an amazing knife. I EDC it and I forget its there. The profile makes it extremely comfortable in the pocket. Sharp as all get out too. Great blade.
