I'm a big big fan on the 941 profile, and I'd reall like to find one of these, but I'd like to get it in S30V or D2 if possible.

Does anyone know where I could find either of these knives, either retail, or being resold somewhere? I've looked all around the net, and I'm about to start calling local stores around here, and I'm about to think I'm SOL. :(

The 941TI-01 is brand-spanking-new, so, with patience, it will be at places like New Graham Pharmacy before too long (gentle, constant harrassment of the staff will prompt them to let you know when it's available, often before it's up on the webpage). Don't rush out and buy somebody's 921D2CF if you think the two-tone titanium is better looking or feeling and/or if you prefer or think you'd prefer S30V over D2. The way Benchmade handles S30V, it's tougher, holds its edge longer, and resharpens easier than their D2.

Wait, then pounce!

Now that would be interesting to see if someone at Benchmade actually has one of those. :)

Odd. Brandspaking new? I figured that the 941TI-01 had already come and gone in places like NG. Thanks for the tip, and I'll keep my eye out.

Namagomi,

It will be in the hands of the lower-priced retailers soon, but not yet.

Patryn and Nimravus,

Please give me a break! I nermally type gooder.

I have a 941D2-CF and really love it. I handled a 941Ti-01 yesterdayand had a REALLY REALLY hard time not pulling out my credit card and taking it home with me. Normally I only buy knives if I can pay cash, and I was on my way home from giving all my play cash to a man for a slightly used Bridgeport mill that's coming to live in my shop on Tuesday (YEAH!).

So I rushed home and added it to my Xmas list my wife asked for. While I'm in serious lust mode for the Ti model right now, I've always had a real love for the 941 design and this would be the seventh one I've owned if I get it. I've sold a few, but kept a red handled 941BC1 in the safe and the carry above mentioned CF model all the time.

The 941 is one of my favorite designs of all time. These two knives (941D2CF & 941Ti-01) share the same overall design and dimensions, seemingly differing only in materials, but they are distinctly different knives. The carbon model is appreciably lighter than the Ti model. The CF has a more organic feel to it, like it's got wooden scales. It never feels cold in the hand like the aluminum and Ti models do. They also changed the clip on the Ti model. The new clip is much nicer looking and would look much better clipped to a pair of khakis at work IMHO. The clip on the CF model (and all other 941s I've seen) is particurlarly good at clipping in the waist of a pair of sweats that have no pockets because of it's shape. Like the Buck Mayo, the clip on the Ti model wouldn't do as well on something like the sweats because those clips are both shorter and tighter to the side of the handle than the normal 941 clip design which has a pretty large gap. The lighter weight of the CF model makes it great for carry when wearing loose lightweight shorts around the house with no belt as well. The CF model will also allow for a little flex in the handle when stressed laterally whereas the metal scaled models to me seem completely rigid.

In practical applications, I don't know that there will be a lot of difference between the D2 and S30V. My D2 version cuts a lot better than my 154CM versions did and seems to hold an edge better as well. I'm sure the same will be true for the S30V.

If I were you I would buy which ever one you can get your hands on.

I think I need both.

jmx
