Im really trying to find a decent maker. Or website of that maker that i can drop up to a grand on. Really looking for someone to work with that have base models i can maybe change or base models that will work for me right off the bat. Anyone know makers that arent name brand makers who arent already sold out. Or any name brand maker who have anything for sale. Im just trying to get my foot in the door with customs amd find some sites i can look through other than the standard blade hq and knife center stuff

Thanks
DANK

Might be a good idea to check out the Blade show in Atlanta. Lots of makers there with pieces for sale.
Arizona Custom Knives might be another option

Depends on what style of knife you’re looking for, and wether you plan on using it. More than a handful of makers come to mind, but without knowing your preferred style, it is nearly impossible to recommend a “good” (in your opinion) maker.

That said, I suggest looking through the makers for sale subforum and finding a style that suits you. Most of the makers here on the forums have websites for you to look at as well, once you find a style you like. Shoot them an email to get the ball rolling, you will find they are quite friendly and accommodating.

Browse this forum, and you’ll find a lot of makers who sell at various price points.

What are you looking for folders or fixed blades?
I have several base models to choose from that i can modify on request.

Depending on what you are looking for I have a few post on my website that are available.

Hello,
Thanks for the info. Im definitely a flipper guy. Im in love with recurve knives or tactical. I recently purchased an andre thorburn L51. I have plenty of production knives ranging from spyderco black mamba to microtech doc. One of my favorite knives i got a year ago is a michael zeiba s2 double tap. I hope that makes it a little more clear on my style of knives. I apologize for the broad comment asking for help earlier.

I just started carrying a Matt Bailey flipper that I really like. Here on the Makers forum or at his web site - http://www.baileyknives.com

MacWasil will be happy to talk to you about a custom too. Send him a PM.

I will say, even if a maker says they're books are closed, it shouldn't hurt to email them to double check, or see when their books will re-open. Some makers don't update their info regularly, such that their "books are closed" status may be out of date. I've also on multiple occasions been able to get onto custom books even when they were closed (e.g., a spot opened up due to a cancellation). Obviously, your mileage may vary, especially with the most popular makers.

Edit: as far as tactical flippers where you can customize a base model, check out Olamic Cutlery. They have both full custom models (made 100% in house) and midtechs (CNC made knife blanks that they'll customize to your preferences).
