I have a Benchmade 750 Pinnacle that I want some work done to.

The blade finish is pretty messed up due to some sandpaper,
I'd like the blade to have bead blasted finish, or just cleaned up so it doesn't look so scratched up.
And would like to get bronze phosphorus washers put in.

Who do you guys reccomend for such a job?

And what does something like this cost?

Dan,
Not meaning to hijack your thread :o , but let me know if you find someone. I have a 750s that want a couple of mods for as well... :D
Thanks,
Rob

Guys, I can't help with the other mods, but Benchmade will change in new bronze washers (yes, even if your old ones were NOT bronze) for $1 per knife plus $5 shipping.

What about doing the work yourself?

All you need to do is buy some sandpaper in 400, 600, 800, 1000, and 1500 grit (depending on how 'messed up' your blade is now.) You may be able to start with some 600 grit, and work your way up from there.

With a little patience, you can have a mirror polished blade, and all it cost you was some time, and some sandpaper. It really isn't all that hard to do; I just learned to do it myself, and I was able to salvage a badly scarred and scratched blade, and turned it into a smooth mirror finish. The key here is patience, and sanding with each grit until the scratches are removed. I also use Mothers Wheel polish after I'm done with the 1500, and I ended up with a mirror finish.

As for bronze washers, you can order them from www.knifekits.com and replace them yourself.

There is nothing like the satisfaction gained from doing the work yourself. And, when people ask you about that great mirror finish, you can tell them you did it yourself, with pride.

:)

What Mike says is 100% correct; Do it yourself...That'll help you "bond" with your knife, and you'll have one that you can take pride in. PS...While you have it apart you'll have a chance to clean & re-lube the pivot area.

I want to change the washers as well: no big deal... My blade is mint - well... Bodycoted. What I want is to do the Strider SnG thing (great feel to it!) and replace the non-lock side with G10 and a titanium liner. Since the blade is (sheeple friendly ;) ) rainbow BC, I wanted a coloured G-10 handle.
Thoughts?

Damn Dan,

A nice satin finish can be had by anyone that can get to the hardware store.

Get the washers and go for it1 You'll
love it.
