Just as the title reads, I'm trying to find my TiBolt. I had it at a customer's earlier today, but no luck this evening. Can't find it it my car, anywhere. Anyone lose and then find their TiBolt or other expensive pen? Any hints on how to locate them? Thanks in advance.

That's an ugly feeling. I temporarily lost my Jim Burke MAP pen. I had gone to the doctor's office, and then to both Walgreens and Kmart to pick up some prescriptions and other odds and ends. I returned home just before noon, emptied my pockets and switched from pants to shorts. After my dinner I needed to complete an application and went for my pen, only it wasn't there with my pocket dump. I rechecked my pant pockets, no luck. I then checked inside my truck and all along my path to the house. Nothing. I figured I might have lost it in one of the stores either inside or outside while getting back in my truck. At the time I had recently had a hip replacement surgery and needed to lift/pull myself up to get in, but would start bending/squatting to sit down while partially out of the cab.

I figured it was already claimed at that point by a new lucky owner. I almost ordered another one, but I was kicking myself at losing a pen in which I had spent $150 on. So I held off a bit. Coincidentally, I had a Ti-bolt on the way and figured I would go it alone with that one and be more careful in the future.

A few days later I got a pleasant surprise. I use the plastic bags from the stores as little trash bags in one of my rooms, I hang it on the doorknob to my closest door. I had gone to throw some papers in the bag and turned to walk away when I thought I noticed something. For a second I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, so I went back to look and damned if my lost pen wasn't clipped/torn into to the outside of the plastic bag - just hanging there. I didn't remember but at the time I left Kmart I must have had the pen in hand when I grabbed the bags, and once I got to my truck I placed everything in the passenger side without even realizing it.

Good luck with it though, I hope it turns up!

Thanks for the thoughtful reply, Moshow9. I ordered a replacement from KnifeArt earlier today, still hoping it turns up somewhere. I've re-traced my steps countless times and I just can't think of where it might be.

Since it's always in the last place you look, I suggest looking there first.

Still haven't found it, I'm looking back everywhere I can think I've been. I was carrying it clipped to my left pocket every day I had it.

I was at a customer's, finished my work and signed my reports with the pen, lent it to the customer and he signed it and to the best of my recollection, he returned it to me. That is the last time I'm certain I had it in my possession. After that, I went to my car, loaded up my tools, drove home, got out and walked around the house, caulked some seams as the house is being painted and walked around looking at my home's exterior. After that, I got into my wife's SUV, rode over to dinner and ate.

About halfway through dinner I realized the pen was no longer in my pocket. I thought since I rode in the passenger seat of her SUV that perhaps the clip had been caught on the seat belt somehow, but it wasn't there and I couldn't find it anywhere in her vehicle. I checked the parking lot, checked the perimeter of my house and my car's interior upon returning home and didn't find it. I then drove to the customer's and checked the parking lot there (thankfully it wasn't far!) and even returned to double-check the parking lot of the restaurant. I've re-checked both cars, my bag I carry to customers, my trunk, and all over my house and haven't had any luck.

I've called the restaurant, I've called the customer and they've looked and are looking for me, hoping it turns up somehow. Trying to retrace my steps, it's really remarkable how easily small steps in your day-to-day are forgotten, as I'll be thinking about it and remember a location to check I hadn't thought about before.

Replacement is here, still haven't given up hope on finding my first one.

left pocket carry while driving could mean it fell out getting in or getting out and then stepped on. of course i don't know what you were walking on. i've found knive that i somehow hooked onto the actual seatbelt. good luck!

Hope it turns up. I lost a Benchmade Pen a while back a couple years now, $120. I found it 2 weeks later at work. My boss had it on his desk with a note "Whomever belongs to this pen, I found it. Nice pen." ;) A TiBolt sounds nice though. Some day soon.
